Wekiwa Springs State Park | Reservations Are Now Required

Reservations are NOW required for entry at Wekiwa Springs State Park.
Wekiwa Springs State Park has launched a reservation-only entry pilot program to enhance visitor experiences and alleviate traffic congestion. This initiative, effective from March 12, 2025, through September 1, 2025, requires all day-use visitors, including annual passholders, to secure reservations prior to their visit.
Benefits of the Reservation System
Historically, the park has faced significant traffic issues, with lines forming hours before opening and extending onto Wekiwa Springs Road, causing disruptions and long wait times. By implementing the reservation system, the park aims to:
-
Reduce Traffic Congestion: Scheduled entries are expected to minimize backups on surrounding roads, ensuring smoother access for visitors.
-
Enhance Visitor Experience: With controlled entry numbers, guests can anticipate a more relaxed environment, allowing for better enjoyment of the park's natural beauty.
-
Preserve Natural Resources: Managing the number of visitors helps protect the park's ecosystems from overuse, ensuring its preservation for future generations.
Reservation Details
-
Advance Booking: Reservations can be made up to 60 days in advance, with same-day bookings available until capacity is reached.
-
Fees: The standard park entry fee is collected online at the time of reservation, with no additional charges for the booking itself.
-
Annual Passholders: Passholders must also make reservations, selecting the "Annual Passholder" payment option during booking and presenting their pass upon entry.
Program Duration and Assessment
The pilot program will run until September 1, 2025, after which the Florida Park Service will evaluate its effectiveness in improving traffic flow and visitor satisfaction. Depending on the outcomes, the program may be continued or expanded to other state parks facing similar challenges. FloridaStateParks.org
